Lacey was born on November 9, 1973, in the city of Harlan in Kentucky. His parents are Cathalyn and Jon Lachey. He started his education at Clovernook Elementary School, and then enrolled in the School for Creative and Performing Arts located in Cincinnati, Ohio. After high school, he attended college at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. In 1992, he enrolled himself at the University of Southern California.

Everyone knows Lachey as part of the best-selling pop boyband 98 Degrees. But he started his singing career as a performer in a Cincinnati amusement park called Kings Island together with old pal Justin Jeffre. While studying at Miami University, he flew to Los Angeles to meet up with Jeff Timmons. The two hit it off and decided to form a band together with Jeffre. He invited his younger brother Drew Lachey and started recording for their first album together. They released their self-titled debut studio album in 1997, but their popularity started to soar after releasing their second album 98 Degrees and Rising in 1998.

In 2003, Lachey dropped his first solo album called SoulO, but he only made a mark as a solo artist with his second album called What’s Left of Me. He also released two other albums in 2000 and 2013.

Nick Lachey: Television Career

Lacey started his TV career during his marriage with his then-wife Jessica Simpson. The couple appeared in an MTV reality TV show titled Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica. They were also seen in a 2—4 TV special called The Nick and Jessica. These shows paved the way for his TV stardom and gave him the chance to host a music reality series known as Taking the Stage that aired in 2009 on MTV.

He also hosted the a cappella singing competition The Sing-Off on NBC back in 2009 until 2010. His other hosting gigs included VH1’s Big Morning Buzz Live and America’s Most Musical Family.

Aside from hosting, Lachey also appeared on television as part of several drama series. One of his most notable roles was the columnist named Leslie St. Claire in Charmed. He was also a part of the action crime drama film The Hard Easy in 2006.

Lacey and Simpson met in 1998. They had an on-again, off-again relationship but opted to get married in 2002. Their relationship only lasted until 2005 after a highly-publicized divorce. In 2006, he met actress-model Vanessa Minnillo while shooting his music video. They started dating and got married in 2011. The couple currently has three children.
