Most Expensive Wedding Dress Ever Made

There are countless choices when you talk about finding the right wedding dress. Regardless if the soon-to-be bride prefers a heavily-embellished gown or a classic immaculate white satin dress, it’s pretty quick to accumulate the dress costs. Some brides are adamant about spending an insane amount of money for their wedding dress, and some of them even made it to the top list of the most expensive wedding dresses ever made. On the other hand, some women just don’t care about being on whoever’s list but simply thought that they’re walking down the aisle only once, might as well go big on this department.

Serena Williams

The multi-awarded athlete has decided to go all the way on her ball gown for her wedding. Designed by Sarah Burton, the Alexander McQueen dress has a sweetheart neckline with a flowing cape. This history-in-the-making wedding dress costs a skyrocketing $3.5 million. And that pricey ball gown wasn’t the end for Williams, she had two other dresses made to last for the rest of the night.

Victoria Swarovski

Coming right next to Serena’s record is Victoria Swarovski, whose custom-made dress was tagged for about more than $1 million. The jewelry heiress had indeed lived up to its namesake and had her dress heavily-embellished with crystals. Some estimated it to have more than 500,000 of that shining shimmery stone.

Kim Kardashian West

Of course, there must be a Kardashian in that list, and it was Kim who didn’t disappoint the public. In her 2014 wedding with Kanye, she wore a $500,000-dollar custom-made Givenchy long sleeves, trumpet wedding gown. And like any other bride, she also changed to another stunning Olivier Rousteing minidress later that night. Rousteing is Balmain’s creative director.

Salma Hayek

Making it to the top five is the multi-awarded actress Salma Hayek. During her wedding with Francois-Henri Pinault in Venice, Italy, she paraded her Balenciaga gown worth almost $440,000. That dress was Nicolas Ghesquière’s masterpiece that showcased a unique detailed plunging v-neck silhouette that cascaded into a whole-body skirt. The pricey gown caught everyone’s attention during the elite-filled event held at the oldest opera place in the entire Europe.

Kate Middleton

The Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, isn’t going to miss the cut of the most expensive wedding dresses ever made. In the most-watched event of 2011, her wedding with Prince William drew tons of oohs and aahs after seeing her Alexander McQueen classic gown. The creation of Sarah Burton-dress, which had long lace sleeves and a full skirt, costs a whopping $434,000. The Victorian-inspired satin bodice came with pads at the hips and was filled with floral motifs cuts. Burton used UK fabrics on the dress’s body specially sourced for the Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding gown.
