George Vanderbilt’s $184 Million Home. George Vanderbilt was considered a celebrity in the early 19th century because he was born into a wealthy and privileged family with a fortune coming from steamboat and railroad industries. George Vanderbilt used his family’s fame to amass a large collection of art and books and needed a house to store them all. In 1888, he bought around 100,000 acres land in the Blue Ridge mountain to become the site of what will be known as the Biltmore Estate. The Biltmore Estate has 250 rooms in total, which included 35 bedrooms and 43 bathrooms. The total cost to have the Biltmore built during that time was $6 million. In today’s value, that would have been a staggering $184.14 million making one of the most expensive celebrity homes of all time.

Bill Gates’ $145 Million Home. Ever since 1987, Bill Gates has been included in the list of Billionaire’s by Forbes and has been the wealthiest man in the world for more than seventeen times. Because of this, it will not be surprising to see the Home of the founder of Microsoft to be listed in the world’s most expensive celebrity homes as well. Bill Gates spent over $63 million to have his Medina home built, which has seven bedrooms, six kitchens, and 24 bathrooms. In today’s value, Gate’s Medina home will be valued at about $145 million.

Hugh Hefner’s $113 Million Playboy Mansion. Every hot-blooded male in America has dreamt of getting invited to the iconic Playboy Mansion to party with Hefner and his Playmates. The Playboy Mansion is a 29-room estate that Hefner bought for $1 million in 1974. In today’s value, the Playboy Mansion is worth $113 million.

Oprah Winfrey’s $101 Million Home. Oprah’s celebrity status is unsurpassable. She is also considered as the richest black woman in the world with an estimated net worth of around $3.1 billion. Oprah bought her 42-acre estate for $50 million in 2001. Today, Oprah’s 5000 square-foot mansion is valued at about $101 million.

George Lucas’ $100 Million Skywalker Ranch. Star Wars’ filmmaker George Lucas’s Skywalker Ranch was built in 1978 which consists of a 4,700-acre property. Skywalker Ranch has a real working ranch and is used primarily as a workplace for sound editing of Lucas’ projects. The ranch also houses a 300-seat movie theatre that is used for screening ongoing movie projects. The Skywalker Ranch is believed to be valued at around $100 million.
